It was a real treat to visit Regale Winery up in the Santa Cruz Mountains. I’m lucky because I live in an area where wineries are literally just a short drive away. Regale, in particular, was about a 30 minute drive from me. My first impression of the place was how beautiful the location was.
Check out one of my galleries for a few of the photos that I snapped during my time at Regale.
The hosts at Regale Winery were so helpful in helping us understand about their property and wines that they make. The winemaker, himself, even spent some time with us in the barrel room and allowed us to get a little taste of one of the barrels — he’ll be bottling it up a year from now. How cool is that?
I had a tasting of about 5-6 wines while I was at Regale. However, I am inclined to share my favorite from my visit because it really is one of my top favorites now — of all time. My favorite was their 2014 Chardonnay. It was lively and refreshing. It had notes of apple and citrus, not buttery at all. Just the way I like my Chardonnay.
Overall, I had a great time at Regale. I’m definitely going back there for a second tasting. Care to join me?
